First it started with 1 Man, then 12 Leaders, then 120 Assistants, today some 250 Co-Workers who have touched, cared and ministered to more than One Million people in the last 23 years in South East Asia.
Somewhere in June 1996, Bro. Dr. Ivan Kennedy (22 years old) after long hours of discernment received a vision and calling to ‘Serve As A Missionary And Servant To The Downtrodden & Broken Hearted’. He knew that it was a big task and it’s going to be tough, challenging and demanding. But somehow a group of 12 others joined him with the same vision and calling. They came together in sacrificial love and made this vision their lifestyle and a reality.
Bro. Dr. Ivan Kennedy had the vision and calling to live as a ‘Worshipping Missionary Community’ to both the Spiritually Poor and the Physically Poor. Called towards Servanthood & Servitude was his aim. Twelve others comprising of all races shared the same vision and realising a growing urgent need to serve the Neglected and the Poorest of the Poor(both physically & spiritually), they made it a mission and a future to look forward.
Finally, on the 14 July 1996 the Mission of EL Shaddai became a reality. Days of discernment and prayers were held and finally upon receiving the ‘Go Ahead’ sign from God, they set forth to the dark areas and corners of the world to bring the message of salvation, hope, healing, deliverance and love to the many that are lost and neglected. Today some 250 Co-Workers of the EL Shaddai Missionaries have touched and ministered to more than One Million people in the last 23 years.
There are a total of 8,600 families in our mailing list. On the 3 November 1998 the Registrar of Societies of the Government of Malaysia approved our constitutions and gave us an official recognition as a charitable organization under the banner of ‘Persatuan’.

EL Shaddai Community Society, K.L. is a 23-year old registered NGO and non-profit charity ministry towards the poor. Our main mission is to provide shelter, aid and monetary help to the POOREST OF THE POOR in Malaysia, India and China.
We are a practical, hands-on non-profitable organization with many programs dealing with a wide range of issues that keep people especially children trapped in poverty – from sicknesses, abuse and discrimination, starvation, lack of financial support, unable to make a decent living and those living in slums.
We respond to any emergency that puts at great risk the survival, protection and well-being of significant numbers of poorest of the poor children, where addressing the needs and well-being of those children are beyond the indigenous coping capacity, and where EL Shaddai is able to mobilize the financial and human resources to take urgent action on their behalf.
The 5 main focus of our ministry are:
1) Providing aid to The Poorest of The Poor Children, The Homeless and Widows.
2) Helping Single Mothers Save Their Babies from The Crime of Abortion. 600 babies saved.
3) Visiting The Slums and Providing Monthly Rations to 100 Abandoned Elderly Folks.
4) Adventuring into The Jungles of Malaysia and Giving Supplies to 100 ‘Orang Asli’ families.
5) Giving Free Food Through Our ‘Soup Kitchen’ To 1000 Unfortunate Kids in K.L. and Selangor.
